The Jeppesen Aviation Database contains more than 18,600 airports and 2.6 million data records. It’s no wonder some 30 percent of our workforce is comprised of charting and navigation experts to process this vast amount of information.

A database three times the size of any other provider

Jeppesen NavData provides the most complete and accurate aeronautical information available. Jeppesen NavData delivers coverage to more than 7,000 airports and is the only offering that provides global coverage, with a database that is three times the size of any other provider. In order to provide the largest coverage available in the world, Jeppesen meticulously sifts through over 41,000 pages of source data from 190 countries every 28 days. Jeppesen NavData is available in raw ARINC 424 format or can be packed in the proprietary format for loading into practically all flight management systems and simulators.

Tailoring

We will tailor Jeppesen NavData that is specific and unique to individual customers and maintain this customized data on an on-going basis. The different information types that we will code into the Jeppesen NavData files include; company routes, airport gates, SIDs, STARs, waypoints, airway segments, approach procedures, and more. RNP Validation and Comparison

Jeppesen holds a letter of approval from the FAA certifying the RNP Validation and Comparison service, which are available for Boeing 737’s with OFP 10.7 and higher and for operators that fall under AC 90-101A. Comparison service is also available for Airbus aircraft. In addition, Jeppesen offers RNP AR NavData services for qualified Garmin avionics models that includes the RNP validation and comparison as part of the data service.

Airport Mapping Database and ARINC 816

AMDB is the detailed data that’s necessary to power today’s airport moving map applications. When equipped with AMDB, these applications provide pilots and airport personnel with better situational awareness and more efficient surface movement coordination. AMDB:

  • Is the industry’s most rigorous validation procedures and revision schedules to ensure the accuracy, timeliness and reliability of our airport mapping database.

Jeppesen Obstacle Database

Comprised of up-to-date data from digital and paper sources from governmental civil aviation and military agencies around the world, the Jeppesen Obstacle Database is the world’s most complete and most trusted database of natural and human-made obstacles relevant to aviation.  

Attributes contained in the database include: 

  • Obstacle type 
  • Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) 
  • Elevation MSL 
  • Coordinate datum* 
  • Height AGL 
  • Number of structures per obstacle* 
  • Lighting* 
  • Vertical and horizontal accuracy*

Jeppesen Terrain Database

The Jeppesen Terrain Database provides accurate terrain data to prevent controlled flight into terrain and to manage terrain avoidance warning systems. Like thousands of other pilots, dispatch and other flight operation planners, you can count on the Jeppesen Terrain Database to provide you with the most accurate information possible when there’s no room for error.  

  • The Jeppesen Terrain Database provides a global, uniform, high-quality terrain data source 
  • Base terrain layer resolution meets the basic accuracy requirements of US FAA Technical Standard Order C151b, Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems, and Area 1 under ICAO Annex 15 
  • Jeppesen proprietary topography algorithms fill in any voids in SRTM data 
  • Trace any elevation value back to its original source via intuitive graphical metadata 
  • Terrain data is produced, maintained and distributed according to assurance level 2 requirements established by RTCA Document DO-200A, Standards for Processing of Aeronautical Data 

Jeppesen LPV Data Service

The Jeppesen Localizer Performance With Vertical Guidance (LPV) Data Service enables precision approach capabilities on Boeing 737 MAX 10 and 777X aircraft, independent of weather conditions and without relying on the ground infrastructure typical of Instrument Landing Systems (ILS).
  • Reduce the likelihood of costly diversions due to low visibility conditions when aging ground-based navigation infrastructure (ILS or GLS) is inoperable.
  • Save fuel with more direct routing that is not limited by mountainous terrain or curved approaches.
